I'm Alive. LOL.

I know, I know. I've been a terrible blogger. Nearly eight months without a word from my side of the interwebs but I'm hoping I'll be more "present" in the up and coming year. So much has been going on that I couldn't possibly find the energy or time to update this humble little blog of mine. There have been birthdays, weddings, deaths, and friends giving birth but I've decided to share snipets from the past couple months; concerts I've been to, hair colors my bleached fried hair managed to survive, and this absolutely darling new boyfriend of mine. *teehee*

Finally found the time to wind down and update this page with a post. *phew*

Hmm I don't know where to begin with being gone for so long but here's a short update of my hair. Last I remember, it was black on top and purple underneath. from there i changed the purple to pink ( as seen below)
Around May 2012

From there I decided to chop my ends off and used the temporary black tub of dye from Manic Panic

July- August 2012

Late August I decided to strip the black off and go a pinkish-purple
August 2012
Then came September and I i thought of going dark again but stayed away from black. So I went a deep purple using Special Effects Deep Purple.

I always see an opportunity to shift colors whenever the current one fades so from purple I decided to go BLUE and that lasted nearly two months. My favorite one so far. But that didn't stick either. :3

Three weeks ago, I stripped all the blue off and stayed a bleached blonde for about a week...

I never really intended to stay blonde so i mixed up a drop of deep purple with a ton of conditioner to make a pastel purple/lavender. That lasted for about 2 days.

And now we have come to my current hair color. I used Manic Panics Rock N Roll Red on top And Special Effects Deep Purple at the bottom. I've decided to keep it this way for awhile cause everytime I catch up with friends over coffee or drinks, they never fail to comment on how my hair changes whenever I see them. HAHA
December 2012

Before I forget, I'd just like to say that I saw MEGADETH last June. yes. you read that right. It was the most amazing night of my life. They played all the songs that mattered to me and it was a breeze going to the toilet because, well, there were more men than women at the gig. I went with my brother and we sang our hearts out. Too bad SLR's weren't allowed inside the concert and all my camera photos have been deleted by accident but the memory of that amazing night will forever be with me.

Now I'd like to end this post with photos of my beau and I. We can be really mushy mushy and I've never been happier. I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!!

P.S

My next post will be all about the holidays and how I keep my hair healthy and soft. Till next time!! xoxo

Friday Favorite

Arrggghhhh. So I still haven't fixed my blog lovin' account because I really have no idea how to go about it exactly. So yeah, the problem is, nobody can follow this blog because it was under a different URL when I first started and apparentlyyyy Blog Lovin' doesnt automatically detect any changes in your URL address or whatever. So it's a little frustrating. Anyways. I decided to start a Friday Favorites entry and here's the first one!! I'll tinker with blog lovin' in a bit, but for now, Enjoy :)

Favorite numero uno would be Frida Gustavsson's Pink hair!! This Photo is making me miss my pink locks more and more. Which isn't good 'cause I still have some bleach in my bathroom and might get tempted to start coloring my hair again.

THIS!! Cow Print Cardigan is the cuteeeest thing! I plan on getting it this weekend cause I can't seem to avert my eyes from the photo. haha

I admit, florals and bows have been drawing me in lately. Gone are the days when I used to wear all black and randomly quote lines from E.A. Poe. I'm hoping I can find similar shoes like these where I live. It's a bit of a pain to have to order abroad and wait for days...even weeks for the order to arrive.

I might have exaggerated a little about not wearing black anymore. I still love dressing up in darker tones and colors. In fact, the outfit I have on, is all black. teehee. These Shoes would go so well with what I'm wearing right now. I love the funky, edgy heel!! Can't stop drooling over it.

I've only just begun to fully appreciate fashion photography in the past years. Despite having collected all kinds of fashion magazines growing up, and enjoying Annie Leibovitz's portraits of musicians, I was always and actually still am a fan of landscape photography. But these photographs by Patrick Demarchelier are just soooo beautiful, I seriously cannot get enough.

Well, I suppose that's it for my first Friday Favorites post. Have a wonderful weekend, all!!

Tropical Sunday

Just wanted to share a couple photos taken at the beach last Sunday in Iligan. This was my first time at the particular spot because  the beach resort we had originally planned on visiting was extremely full (it was a Sunday). So perfect that my cousin remembered this other place that he did a photo shoot at. Apparently not a lot of people knew about it so we had the entire beach to ourselves!

oh just me with a glass of beer on a rock. lol. wouldn't this make a cool postcard? :)
i used plastic cups as molds for the homemade fruit popsicles. they were sooo good. if i do say so myself.

me and the girls: kaye, kaelha, and elizabeth

the same rock from the first photo and my cousin alex standing in the water. you can also see how secluded the cove is. just perfect!

getting our local beer on! i looove san mig pilsen. it's got flavor and tastes even better when while at the beach.

wearing my suit from SOAK. it's on of my favorites to, well, soak in

I absolutely cannot wait for my next visit back to Iligan and to our new secret relaxing spot. :)

Quick Post

To all shoe lovers, do check my cousin Celyn's blog over at Life's A Shoe. As you can probably tell, she simply adores shoes. On her blog you'll find all kinds of pretty little heels and flats with patterns, bows, studs, and what nots. She's also got a wonderful shoe collection that she's entered in The Shoeperwoman's Shoe Challenge. And just about a couple of weeks ago, she did a little feature on my Iron Fist Zombie Stompers for her Weird Shoe Wednesday post. I hope you find her blog as entertaining as I do!!

Have a lovely weekend all!!
Hugs and Xx

pimpin' purple

So I recently got really bored with the black I've replaced my pink hair with and decided to shake things up a bit. I still didn't want to bleach my entire head because I kind of overdid it the last time and i'm still in the process of fixing my hair (getting it soft and manageable again). Three weeks ago, i dyed the underside of my hair PURPLE :) these photos were taken a week after I put the color in and a couple days before i chopped my hair off!! (that's another post yet to come)

i am pretty vain when it comes to my hair ^^ that's no secret.

in case any of you are wondering, I used Special Effect's Deep Purple over bleached hair, then a week after, I added in a little Bit of Pimpin' Purple. It's almost time for another touch up :)

TOE live in Manila

You can't believe how happy I've been with the increase of international bands (that i like) coming to perform in this country. I may be based in Cebu but once i hear that a favorite act of mine is touring, I instantly head on to the interwebs to check airline ticket prices.

1. flying to manila with Simon 2. meeting my younger brother Teo and our friend Joe at the venue 3. TOE

When I heard that TOE, this amazingly close to superior post rock/math rock (?) band that I've been digging for years was coming, I went apeshit. In a good way. Like hands in the air. A few jumps, a couple of these: "YES! YES!" and of course the posting of the announcement on Facebook. I am usually in complete awe when I see musicians, whom I respect and look up to. When they're on stage, I fixate on their hands and fingers and become jaw-dropingly mystified by their talent. I often forget to takes pictures of performances and on this particular concert, I took ONLY ONE! *bawl* And a couple videos on my boyfriend's phone. For me, it was Kashikura Takashi, the bands drummer who stood out with his hands flailing about and his beat carrying the songs and bringing the elements together. I was just. AMAZED. Utterly amazed. I wish you all could have been there.

And here are a few photos from past gigs. I stole a couple from RIA aka Concert Buddy. :)))
Cebu Girls: Carla, Kate, Ria, Myself, and cousin Trif
I thanked the music and production gods when i found out that Deftones would be having a concert in Manila.
Iligan Represent: Mike, Karl, and Myself
I squealed with excitement when Mr. Big announced that Manila would be part of their SE Asian Tour (gilbert and sheehan are crazy cool! haha)
Ria and I in the upper right photo. Me and my thumbs in the group photo. HAHA
I bit my lip like a rabid teenager when i bought my Coheed and Cambria tickets.

Hannah and Myself in the lower left photo waiting for our train to arrive. The hat makes me seem bald.

...And flew to Hong Kong just to watch Red Hot Chili Peppers with a few friends.
By now, you can probably tell that I like my rock bands. Although I can't always afford flying just to watch
concerts. I missed Iron Maiden in Singapore because the date was a bit too close to the Deftones gig and that made my heart sink a little bit.

Although I did get a kick ass Iron Maiden bottle opener from my dear friend, Ria. Hmmm. I also missed Bush because, well, I just plain forgot they were coming. And bought tickets to Nine Inch Nails but never got to go. BOO!

So here's hoping for more acts to visit the Philippines! And while i wait for them to get here, I can always check out all the awesome local musicians.

Talk soon! :)
